What is Universal Product Codes (UPC)?

The Uniform Product Code (UPC) is a bar code system that uses the 12 digits to uniquely identify products. This code can be found on packaging of products, and scanned with a barcode reader.

There are three types of information in the UPC:

Manufacturers
Detail of the product
The product’s unique identification number.

When the UPC is scanned it returns the data stored in the database to return the product’s name and price immediately.
