Based on trade relations, demand from various countries, as well as costs of producing wheat, several crops are exported by India for human consumption, mainly to developing countries.
Here are some examples of countries that import wheat from India:
- Bangladesh – Due to proximity Bangladesh is the largest customer
- UAE – Has very high demand for food.
India’s wheat Export Service mainly go to Asia and the Middle East, with neighbouring countries being the largest exporters to those countries, and with exports being driven primarily by government policy and production for export – supply shortages lead to increased demand very quickly.
